For me, there are three (3) major yet basic importance of engaging yourself into several recreational activities. These are related to the aspects of relaxation, becoming healthier and as a form of quality time.
On the one hand, the primary importance of these recreational activities is that you will be relaxed afterwards when you do these. However, you must not think that it is all about relaxation. This is because if you will think this way, then maybe you just sleep all day long. But the thing is that recreation comes in two ways. The first way, which is the most popular way, has something to do with the refreshment of the mind. This is being done by having a peace of mind through yoga, spa, massage and the like. The second way, which shall be the most common way, has something to do with the recreation of the physical body.
For example, if you are working in an office sitting there all day long, then you are definitely living sedentary life. You need to break this pattern and free yourself through different recreational activities like jogging, bodybuilding as well as swimming and other activities that are different from what you are usually doing on a daily basis.
On the other hand, the more vital importance of recreational activities has something to do with becoming fitter and healthier. Well, this is because by engaging into these kinds of activities, you will move your muscles all over. For example, when you are engaged into swimming, you are moving all over. Aside from that, when you are jogging, for instance, you are burning so many fats from your body, which can make you sexier and healthier. As a matter of fact, even when you are just playing tennis, badminton or any kind of sport activities, you are already on your way for a healthier lifestyle. What you only need to do is to make sure that you do this regularly. You need to ensure that you allot a time and day of your week within your schedule. It would be good if you can do this on a weekly basis, if possible.
Last, but not the least, recreational activities can also be a form of quality time among family members and even friends. For example, if your family only gets together once in a while because of work, then you better make sure that it is worth your time and money.
